Did you have any idea how much that bicycle track cost?

What is the point of a bicycle track?

Now isn’t an “I Hate” campaign, it is more of a concern for the safety of cyclists. As a car user, I will point out that I have certainly used buses, bikes but predominantly I have used cars to get me to where I need to be. That is my right; I bought the road tax for them trips. I also legalize myself in case the situation occurs where I may bump into a another driver. This obligation is called as motor insurance, another heavy price that I must to pay to use our roadways.

But where am I going with all this? You’ve got it in one you have guessed it. Cyclists! I will say it again I am not against the two wheel Stone Age iron stallion. I am absolutely aware that it helps save money and helps maintain their well being. In this eco planet we reside one day I may be forced to do my bit and use a bicycle, and yes that to is fine . But if that day does come and I’m seated on a 2 wheel contraption rest assured I will be stuck to the cycle lane.

So much money was spent in this country to build bicycle paths over rivers, along ring roads and under bypasses. This was supposed to be tax well spent, all the motors on the road and all the bicycles on the cycle lane. But But wait though, it is not because in this clumsy country we have no rule that penalizes cyclists who go out of their way in not cycling on the bike path. Surely you have seen, just as you get on your commute, their is a gridlock of traffic but what’s at the front. A skintight clad superhero riding bike on the road a short distance away from the disused cycle track. Does he need to be there? Does he feel he has a place on the road because the bike he is on cost more than some peoples used cars. Is the bike lane to smooth and comfy and he likes a bit of rough on the road through his tiny seat. I am not sure of the answer but If I had to bike to my destination along a busy multi lane road completewith lorries and buses on it. Trust me I’d be on the bicycle lane, it’s their so I may as well stay alive.

Cyclists don’t pay any road tax, so they should not be in my lane holding me up. He does not pay insurance so if his bike scrapes my car there is not a lot I can do due to the fact that I am not allowed to go after him in my motor when he nips off and jumps onto the scenic cycle lane. So this leaves us where? It leaves us with my plea. Cyclists I respect you, I have friends who are amongst you, I have once been you. So please respect me back and ride your bicycle on the bicycle path, not on the roads over the bridge so that all three lanes of lorries have to all of a sudden squash into two and cause ghastly queues. My road tax helped pay for your own paths and I want to see them being used.
